While David and his men were busy battling the Amalekite raiders that had taken their families and flocks from Ziklag, Saul and Jonathan and the Israelite army were battling the Philistines that had earlier rejected David’s presence.
David was unaware of the outcome of the Israelite-Palestinian battle until a man who claimed to be a witness came to Ziklag looking for David. This man not only claimed to witness Saul’s death, but, said he aided in it. He produced Saul’s crown as evidence. [Reflection based on the Bible Reference – 2 Samuel 1:1-10]
