With God’s assurance that He would deliver the Philistines into David’s hands, David led the Israelites against the Philistines. As promised by God, the Israelites caused the Philistines to scatter, leaving their idols behind. Before long, they returned and God laid out a strategy. He told David, “Circle around them and when you hear what sounds like troops marching through the trees, attack quickly!
