King David was grateful for God enabling the Israelites to complete the conquest of Canaan by conquering Jerusalem. David, however was concerned about the status of the Ark of God. During the years of wandering in the wilderness, the Ark was not at rest. By contrast, a magnificent palace was constructed in Jerusalem for David and his family. On David’s second attempt, with much fanfare and celebrating, the Ark was brought to Jerusalem, the City of David. [Reflection based on the Bible Reference – 2 Samuel 6:1-19]
