King Jotham personally did right in the sight of God; however, he did not take action to remove the places where pagan worship was conducted. As a result, God permitted both Aram [Syria] and Israel to create unrest in Judah. During his sixteen year rule, he made improvements to the temple by repairing the Upper Gate.
