Captured after serving Judah as king for three months, Jehoiachin was a prisoner in a Babylonian jail for the next thirty-seven years. Following the death of Nebuchadnezzar, his son Evil-Merodach became king. Within the first year, Jehoiachin was released from prison and he sat at the king’s table for meals; and was provided a daily allowance for his personal needs.
