“Nehemiah, you look terrible. What’s wrong? Are you ill? Has somebody done something to the wine? These questions were asked by King Artaxerxes when he saw the look on Nehemiah’s face. “No, Your Majesty,” Nehemiah replied. “I’ve received terrible news about Jerusalem, the home of my ancestors.” “What can I do to help?” the king asked. Nehemiah offered a silent prayer to God that his response to the king would be divinely inspired.
