Paul and Silas found the Berean Jews more accepting of the word than the Thessalonians. Each week after Paul taught in the synagogue, the Bereans would examine the scriptures to see if what Paul said was true. As a result many Jews and Greeks became believers. In time the Thessalonians learned that Paul was preaching the word in Berea and some came and agitated until it became necessary for Paul to move on to Athens.
