God arranged that His Son would not be born in a palace or even the best room at the Bethlehem Inn, but out back where the animals of the visitors were normally housed. The Baby’s step-parents, Mary and Joseph, were not wealthy; but, rather a working-class Jewish family, citizens of a land under Roman authority.
