I’m a Greek woman living near the town of Tyre. I have a daughter with serious health issues; and I learned that Jesus was coming to our area. Although I’m not Jewish, I believe that Jesus is the Son of David [Messiah]. If I could talk to Him, I’m sure He would heal my daughter.
The day He came to town, I tried to approach Him; but, His disciples kept getting in the way. I was sure they were trying to keep me from talking to Jesus; so I did the only thing I knew to do; with a loud voice I kept calling Him, “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on me. My daughter needs your help.”
Eventually, they stopped and I knelt before Jesus, saying, “Lord, help me!” What He said, I wasn’t expecting. He said, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel. It’s not right to take the children’s bread and toss it to the dogs.” “But, Lord,” I replied, “Even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from the master’s table.” Then Jesus said to me, “Woman, you have great faith. Your request is granted.” Immediately, my daughter was healed. [Story based on the Bible Reference – Matthew 15:21-28]
