Having faced Pharaoh in securing the release of the Israelites from Egypt, Moses is told by God that he will not be going into “The Promised Land”; but will be succeeded by Joshua.
Joshua is one of the two spies that returned a “good” report, regarding the fertility of the land and a belief that God would conquer the inhabitants. He is credited with a spirit of humility, courage and sincerity of faith in rejecting the report of the ten evil spies. [Bible: Numbers 27:12-23]
