The Israelites sent a message to King Sihon of the Amorites, requesting permission to pass through their territory. The Israelites promised to stay out of the fields and vineyards and to stay away from their wells; and stay on the main road as they passed through.
King Sihon not only refused to let the Israelites pass through, he mobilized his entire army and attacked the Israelites. God enabled the Israelites to defeat the Amorites. [Reflection based on the Bible Reference – Numbers 21:21-24]
