Miriam and Aaron displeased God when they began to talk about Moses and his wife in a negative manner. It doesn’t appear that their discussion was intended for anyone else’s ears; but the words were motivated by what they felt in their hearts. They questioned the authority of Moses and his relationship with God. Perhaps, they felt that they were not getting enough credit for their role in leading the Israelites.
God called a meeting of the three at the Tabernacle. At the end of the meeting, Miriam’s skin was leprous…it was as white as snow. [Reflection based on the Bible Reference – Numbers 12:1-15]
