“I had a dream, and I want you to tell me what the dream was and what it means,” King Nebuchadnezzar said to his assembled counselors and wise men. “Your Majesty,” they said, “No human can do what you have requested. Tell us the dream and we will give you an interpretation.” The king had no patience, and ordered that they be executed.
When Daniel learned of the king’s order, he went to the king and asked for time to provide the answer to the king’s question. Then Daniel went home and asked his three friends, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego to pray with him for God to reveal the king’s dream and the meaning of the dream.
God revealed to Daniel both the dream and the meaning, which Daniel shared with King Nebuchadnezzar. From this experience Nebuchadnezzar became aware of the power of God in Heaven. Daniel and his three friends were promoted to positions of leadership in Babylon. [Reflection is based on the Bible Reference – Daniel 2:1-49]
